Life with a new baby is joyful and exciting, but can also be overwhelming and isolating. Postnatal yoga supports you in reclaiming your body, after 40 weeks of sharing it with your baby. By strengthening and aligning the body and re-focusing some attention on your own needs, you will be better equipped to make informed and conscious choices as a mother.
JUMP TO SCHEDULEOur Mummy & Me class is an opportunity for new mothers to reconnect with their bodies after birth and to get their strength back. We focus on stretching out problem areas like tense neck & shoulders, restrengthening the abdominals and toning pelvic floor muscles that may have weakened during childbirth.
The class is run by myself and Miriam Muzzell, who is a Birthright Baby Yoga & Baby Massage Instructor. The class begins with yoga for the mums taught by myself and then Miriam teaches the second half, which is when the babies get involved for some focused fun of singing, swinging and stretching.
We have found over the years that having two teachers in the class works really well and if baby is fractious during the first half, Miriam is there to give them attention and if they are sleeping during the second half, I am on hand to do more mum yoga with you. Win win!
It’s a very happy & fun class and an opportunity to meet new mums in the area.
Just turn up with baby and a blanket for them to lie on. Mats & props provided. The space is big, bright & airy with lots of room for buggies. Free on-site car park.
